3. Remove the wheel ornament.
Pry off the wheel ornament , us ing the
beveled end of t he w heel nut wr ench as
shown.
CAUTION
Do not try to pull off the ornament by
hand. Take due care in handli ng the
ornament t o avoid unexpected person-
al injury.
4. Loosen all the wheel nuts.
Always loos en the wheel nuts before rais-
ing the vehic le.
Turn the wheel nuts count ercl ockwi se to
loosen. To get maximum lever age, fit the
wrench to the nut so t hat the handle is
on the ri ght side, as s hown above. Grab
the wr ench near the end of the handle
and pul l up on the handl e. Be car eful t hat
the wrench does not s lip off the nut.
Do not remove t he nuts yet—j ust uns crew
them about one−half tur n.
CAUTION
Never use oi l or gr ease on the bol ts
or nuts. The nuts may l oose and the
wheels may f all off, which coul d cau-
se serious accident.
