D Do not get under your vehicl e wit h
just t he body jack supporti ng it . Al-
ways use automoti ve jack st ands or
other solid support s.
D Be sur e that t he engine is off if you
work near t he electri c cooli ng fans
or radiator grille. With the engine
on, the electric cooling fans will
automati cally st art t o run if t he en-
gine coolant temperat ure i s high
and/or the air conditi oning is on.
D Use eye prot ection whenever you
work on or under your vehi cle
where you may be exposed to flying
or falling material, fluid spray, etc.
D Used engine oi l contai ns potentiall y
harmful cont aminants which may
cause ski n disorder s such as in-
flammat ion or skin cancer, so car e
should be taken to avoid pr olonged
and repeat ed contact with it . To re-
move used engine oil from your
skin, wash t horoughly with soap
and water.
D Do not l eave used oil withi n the
reach of children.
D Dispose of used oi l and f ilter only
in a saf e and acceptable manner.
Do not dispose of used oil and fi l-
ter in househol d tr ash, in sewers or
onto the ground. Call your dealer or
a servi ce stat ion f or inf ormati on
concerning recycl ing or disposal.
D Take care when filling the brake and
clutch f luid r eservoir s because
brake fluid can harm your hands or
eyes. I f fluid gets on your hands or
in your eyes, flush t he affected area
with cl ean water immediat ely. If you
still feel uncomf ortable wi th your
hands or eyes, go t o the doctor.
NOTICE
z Remember that battery and ignition
cables carry high cur rents or volt-
ages. Be car eful of acci dentall y
causing a short circuit .
z Add onl y “Toyota Super Long Li fe
Coolant” or simil ar high quali ty eth-
ylene gl ycol based non−sili cate,
non−amine, non−nitr ite, and non−bo-
rate coolant wit h long−life hybrid
organic acid technology to fill the
radiator. “Toyota Super Long Li fe
Coolant” is a mixtur e of 50% cool-
ant and 50% dei onized water.
z If you spill some of the cool ant, be
sure t o wash it off wit h wat er to
prevent i t from damaging the part s
or paint.
z Do not allow dirt or anything else
to fall t hrough the spark plug holes.
z Do not pry the outer electr ode of a
spark pl ug against the center elec-
trode.
z Use only spark plugs of th e speci-
fied type. Using other t ypes wi ll
cause engine damage, loss of per-
formance or radi o noise.
z Do not reuse iridi um−tipped spark
plugs by cleaning or regapping.
z Automatic transmission or Multidri-
ve—Do not overfi ll t ransmissi on
fluid, or t he t ransmission could be
damaged.
