Troubleshooting
Section
TROUBLE
PROBABLE CAUSE
REMEDY
5.1
Platform will
not elevate or
elevates slowly.
Platform drifts
down after
being elevated.
Platform will
not lower.
Drive function
operable.
Motion Alarm
does not sound.
Brakes will not
release.
Brake will not
lock wheel.
Close Emergency Down Valve, push
in on knob. Check adjustment of Cable.
Observe maximum load rating (See
Table 1-1
).
Check operation of Controller switch.
Replace if required.
Check operation of Controller switch.
Replace if required.
Check operation, adjust if necessary.
Replace if required.
Check operation, replace if required.
Check the Drive/Lift Valve. If proper
voltage is present and coil is not
magnetized replace the coil, if the
spool is not shifting, replace the valve.
Test Drive/Lift Switch for continuity.
Replace if faulty.
Adjust the Main Relief Valve. If not
adjustable, replace.
Test Down Limit Switch for
continuity. replace if faulty.
Test relay, replace if faulty.
Check and replace seals in Lift
Cylinder.
Ensure that the Emergency Lowering
Valve is completely closed, push knob
in. Replace the valve.
Check Piston Seal and replace if faulty.
Test Down Valve Coil. If proper
voltage is present and coil is not
magnetized, replace.
Replace the Down Valve.
Remove and clean Orifice.
Check CR2 and replace if faulty.
Check voltage to Down Alarm . If
proper voltage is present, replace the
Alarm.
Check and replace seals in Brake
Cylinder.
Adjust brakes to disengage tires when
driving only.
Remove and clean Orifice.
Check and replace seals and spring in
Brake Cylinder.
Adjust brakes to engage tires when
not driving .
1. Emergency Down
Valve (V7) open.
2. Platform overloaded.
3. Faulty Down/Reverse
Controller Switch (S2).*
4. Faulty High Speed
Controller Switch (S4).*
5. Faulty Controller
(CONT).**
6. Proportional Valve
(V9,SOL8).**
7. Faulty Drive/Lift
Valve/Coil (V4/SOL5).
8. Faulty Drive/Lift
Selector Switch.
9. Main Relief Valve
(RV1) out of
adjustment or faulty.
10.Faulty Down Limit
Switch (LS1).
11.Faulty Drive/Lift Relay
(R2).
12.Faulty Lift Cylinder
(CYL3).
1. Emergency Lowering/
Down Valve (V7)
partly open or faulty.
2. #2 Piston Seal is leaking
1. Faulty Down Valve
Coil (SOL6).
2. Down Valve (V7) stuck.
3. Plugged Down
Orifice (ORF2).
4. Faulty CR2
Faulty Down Alarm
(ALM1).
1. Faulty Brake Cylinder
(CYL2).
2. Brakes out of
adjustment.
1. Brake Orifice (ORF1)
plugged.
2. Faulty Brake Cylinder
(CYL2).
3. Brake out of adjustment.
