6-4 VS2000 Vital Signs Monitor Operation Manual
WARNING! The alarm settings are set to factory defaults. Once reset
according to patient conditions, current alarm settings are
saved for up to 30 minutes after the monitor is turned off. If
the monitor is not turned back on for 30 minutes, alarm limits
are automatically reset to factory defaults.
WARNING! If patient information has been reset, the user should reset
alarm limits based on new “patient type”.
6.3.2 Silence alarms
The monitor is set to allow temporary or indefinite audio alarm silence, then
pressing the Alarm Silence key in turn while audible alarms are enabled will do
one of the following:
•Press the Alarm Silence key once. A 30-seconds timer will appear at the right
side of the Alarm Since icon. Audible alarms will not be re-enabled if any new
alarm occurs. They will only be re-enabled if the 30-seconds timer times out,
or if the Alarm Silence key is pressed again.
•Press the Alarm Silence key twice. A 60-seconds timer will appear at the right
side of the Alarm Since icon. Audible alarms will not be re-enabled if any new
alarm occurs. They will only be re-enabled if the 60-seconds timer times out,
or if the Alarm Silence key is pressed again.
•Press the Alarm Silence key for three times. A 90-seconds timer will appear at
the right side of the Alarm Since icon. Audible alarms will not be re-enabled if
any new alarm occurs. They will only be re-enabled if the 90-seconds timer
times out, or if the Alarm Silence key is pressed again.
•Press the Alarm Silence key for four times. A 120-seconds timer will appear at
the right side of the Alarm Since icon. Audible alarms will not be re-enabled if
any new alarm occurs. They will only be re-enabled if the 120-seconds timer
times out, or if the Alarm Silence key is pressed again.
•Press the Alarm Silence key for five times. The Alarm Since icon will be
displayed with a cross and no timer. Audible alarms will not be re-enabled if
any new alarm occurs. They will only be re-enabled if the Alarm Silence key is
pressed again.
NOTE! Only qualified personnel may change the allowed alarm audio
silence mode.
