2.2.12. Overfrequency protection (81H)
The overfrequency protection operates when the generator
frequency exceeds the set start value, e.g. due to a sudden loss
of load, for instance when a power plant is islanding. The
frequency may also rise due to a fault in the generator
excitation system.
The resolution of the frequency measurement is 0.01 Hz and
the overfrequency protection has two adjustable frequency
stages.
