1. The charging system is not correct.
2. Cell plates have lost much of their
active material as a result of over-
charging.
3. A short-circuit condition exists within the
battery due to excessive accumulation
of sediments caused by the incorrect
electrolyte.
4. Battery is too old.
Check the magneto and regulator/rectifier
circuit connections, and make necessary
adjustments to obtain specified charging
operation.
Replace the battery, and correct the charging
system.

1. The battery has been connected the
wrong way round in the system, so that it
is being charged in the reverse direction.
