RTP Start Port
When a SIP call is established, Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) packets transport media
and digitized voice. The port used for RTP packets is usually 23000, but a different port may
be defined.
To assign an RTP Start Port:
• Press the Settings ( ) button. If the LCD Menu is locked, use the unlock
procedure. Refer to
page 3-4.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 2.SIP Configuration using the
[Next]-[Previous] softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 7.RTP Start Port using the [Next]-[Previous]
softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Input the RTP Start Port using the dial pad and press the [OK] softkey to save your
entry.
• Move to another parameter with the navigation buttons and continue the session or
press the Settings ( ) button to exit the configuration session.
NOTE: Changing the RTP Start Port requires a reboot of the IP Phone; when you leave the menu, you
will receive a reboot notice. The IP Phone must reboot to utilize the new values entered.
Proxy Registration
If Proxy Registration is set to [Yes], the IP Phone will register with the appropriate call or proxy
server upon initial power-up, during a reboot and at periodic intervals based on the timer
defined in
“Register Expires” on page 3-25.
To enable Proxy Registration:
• Press the Settings ( ) button. If the LCD Menu is locked, use the unlock
procedure. Refer to
page 3-4.
• Press the digit, or move the cursor to 2.SIP Configuration using the
[Next]-[Previous] softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• Press the button, or move the cursor to 8.Proxy Registration using the
[Next]-[Previous] softkeys and press the [OK] softkey.
• To enable registration, press the [Yes] softkey or, to disable SIP registration, press the
[No] softkey.
• Move to another parameter with the navigation buttons and continue the session or
press the Settings ( ) button to exit the configuration session.
