Protection from falling or scattering mate-
rial
Install the necessary protection guards according to working con-
ditions where falling or scattering materials are capable of entering
the operator's cab.
Install front guards when working with a breaker.
In mining applications, FOPS shall be adopted.
The above recommendations are based on standard working con-
ditions. Install necessary additional protection guards in accor-
dance with job site conditions.
For other work, install necessary guards as appropriate where fall-
ing or scattering materials are capable of entering the operator
cab.
Ensure that non-essential personnel keep a safe distance to both
the machine and falling / scattering material.
Loosen bolts (A, D), so that FOG & FOPS can be tilted.
Fasten the bolts (A, D) to prescribed torque when reinstalling
FOG& FOPS after cleaning or maintenance.

WARNING!
Don't operate the machine while FOG (Falling Object
Guard), FOPS (Falling Object Protection Structure) are
tilted. Otherwise, FOG & FOPS can be damaged by the
bucket.
Caution for optional working attachment
Read this manual and the attachment manual before operating at-
tachments.
Do not use any attachment not authorized by your Volvo CE deal-
er.
Accidents or machine damage from the use of unauthorized at-
tachments shall be considered to be the user's own responsibili-
ties.
