Preparetheworksiteproperly;clearawayanydebris
thatmaymoveunexpectedlyifitisrunover.Avoid
operatingthemachinenearstructuresorobjectsthat
couldfallontothemachine.
Preventthehoist(boom)orattachmentfromcoming
intocontactwithoverheadobstaclessuchaselectrical
lines:nevermovethemachinecloserthanthreemetres
(10feet)plustwicethelengthofthelineinsulator.
Keepbystandersclearoftheworksiteatalltimes:
usebarricadesorasignalpersontokeepvehiclesand
pedestriansaway,particularlywhenyouaremovingthe
machineincongestedareasorwherevisibilityisrestricted.
Ensureyoualwayskeepthesignalpersoninview,and
coordinatehandsignalsbeforeyoustartthemachine.
Onlyoperatethemachineonsurfaceswithsolid
footingthathasenoughstrengthtosupportthe
machine;beespeciallyalertwhenworkingnear
embankmentsorexcavations.
Avoidworkingunderover-hangingembankmentsor
stockpiles;thesecouldcollapseunderoronthemachine.
Reducethemachinespeedwhenoperatingthemachine
withatoolonorneartheground(forexample,during
snowremoval).Obstaclesmaybehidden,andcollision
withsuchobjectsathighspeedcanresultinthemachine
stoppingsuddenly;thiscanresultinseriousinjuryand/or
machinedamage.
Alwayswearyourseat/safetybeltwhenoperatingthe
machine.
