Replacingthesawchain
CAUTION:Toreducetheriskofinjuryduring
maintenanceand/orserviceprocedures,ensure
you:lowertheattachmenttotheground;stop
theengine;turnoffanymastershut-offs;and
donotallowpersonnelinthecab.
CAUTION:Toreducetheriskofinjurywhen
workingonorwiththesawchain,ensureyou
wearthecorrectsafetyglovesandremove
thesawchainwhenmakinganyadjustments
orservicingthesawunit.
1.Placetheunitsoitissecurelyonthegroundwiththe
sawunitfacingup.
2.Depressurisethesawchain’stensionsystemby
pressingthepilot-valve(8).
3.Attachthesawchainreplacementtooltothetension
device(6)andthebarholder(2)connectingthering
onthelever(9)tothepin(1),andconnectingthehook
(11)tothepin(7).
4.Pullthelever(9)tocompressthetensioningdevice.
Whenthebarholder(2)isinthecorrectposition,the
lockingdevice(10)willautomaticallyengage.
5.Removethesawchainfromthesawunit.
6.Installanewsawchain;slowlypulltheleveruntilthe
lockingdeviceonthesawchaintooldisengages.
NOTE:Ensureyoualwaysusehigh-speedsawchains
with3/4”pitchsawunits.
7.Removethesawchaintoolfromthesawunit.
8.Carefullyoperatethesawafewtimestosecure
pressureinthechaintensioningdevice.Ifthesaw
chainrepeatedlyjumpsoffthesawbar,youmayneed
tobleedthesystem.
