2.7 Preventing a device failure
2.7.1 Pay attention to the correct environmental
conditions
If the portable unit and the devices attached are used in a non-
specified environment, the treatment may be compromised as a
result of malfunctions.
Do not operate the portable unit with attached devices outside
of the environmental conditions specified for the equipment.
2.7.2 Ensure correct repairs
Incorrect repairs will impair the functioning of the portable unit
and can compromise treatment.
Have repairs and maintenance work carried out by
WEINMANN Emergency.
2.7.3 Do not make any modifications to the
construction of the portable unit or accessories
If modifications are made to the construction of the portable unit
or accessories, the treatment may be compromised as a result of
malfunctions.
Do not make any modifications to the construction of
the portable unit or accessories.
Only allow modifications to the portable unit to be made
by WEINMANN Emergency.
2.8 Ensuring good hygiene practices
2.8.1 Hygienically reprocessing the portable unit
and accessories
Inadequate hygiene causes the following risks:
• Portable units and accessories which are not reprocessed
hygienically can infect the user or patient via the skin or
airways.
