4.5 Power Feed Operation
See Figure 4-4. The power feed system moves the carriage forward and backward by
using two switches on the control panel.
Carriage Feed Rate
The carriage feed rate switch controls the speed at which the carriage travels forward.
Turn the switch clockwise to increase speed. Turn it counterclockwise to reduce speed.
Carriage Forward and Reverse
The carriage forward/reverse switch controls the direction in which the carriage travels.
Turn the forward/reverse switch upward to move the carriage forward. Turn the switch
down to move the carriage backward.
The middle position (as shown) is the neutral position. The power feed switch is designed
to return to the neutral or "off" position when released from operating in the reverse posi-
tion. If the switch remains engaged, manually move the switch to the neutral or "off" posi-
tion. Repair the drum switch (See Section 5.5
).
