4.2 Description of Menu Items
This section describes the items that can be configured on each menu.
Tray Settings
There are three submenus under the Tray Settings menu: Tray 1, Tray 2, and Bypass Tray.
You can set Paper size and Paper type for each tray under these menus. (Display Screen
and Bypass Mode can only be set for Bypass Tray.)
Note
• [Tray 2] are displayed only when the optional sheet feeder is installed.
• The settings menu for [Bypass Tray] is displayed only when the [Bypass Mode] is set to [Panel
Specified].

Item Description
Paper Type Specifies the type of paper loaded in each tray.
• [Tray 1] (default: [Plain Paper])
• [Tray 2] (default: [Plain Paper])
• [Bypass Tray] (default: [Plain Paper])

Paper Size Specify the paper size and oriedtation for each tray.

Item Description
Display Screen Specifies whether to display the message that prompts you to set the paper size and
type or not every time you load paper to the bypass tray.
When you select [On], the message that prompts you to set the paper size and type is
displayed.The default is [Off].
Bypass Mode Specifies the way to set the paper type and size settings to be loaded in the bypass tray.
• [DriverSpecified] (default)
You cannot specify the settings on the control panel. Printing is done using the
settings on the printer driver.
• [Panel Specified]
You can specify the paper type and size settings on the control panel. Printing can be done
only when the settings on the printer driver matches the settings on the control panel. When
a mismatch of paper sizes occurs, follow the instructions displayed on the control panel.
