EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
MOTOMAN 3-5 MH-Series Positioner Manual with MotoMount
3.3 MotoMount
MotoMount (see Figure 3-3) is a flexible tool fixture mounting system which
improves tool repeatability and reduces loads on the headstock/tailstock bearing
systems. MotoMount accommodates combined headstock/tailstock/tooling
misalignments up to two (2) degrees.
MotoMount is required for use with all Motoman MHT-series (headstock/
tailstock) positioners. The MotoMount drive components are mounted onto the
headstock faceplate, while the tailstock components replace earlier tailstock
bearing designs.
MotoMount is also available in a Heavy Duty (HD) configuration (see Figure 3-4).
MotoMount HD is used on MH1000/1500/3000 drive assemblies. MH75/MH150/
MH450 drive assemblies use the standard MotoMount.
WARNING!
Do not use MotoMount with stand-alone headstock (no tailstock)
applications. Use in a stand-alone application will result in
uncontrolled tooling motion.
