Start-Up Procedure
1. With the power off, turn the wheel clockwise
(as viewed from the pulley side) to verify that
the wheel turns freely through a 360° rotation as
shown in Figure 23 on page 31.
2. Beforeapplyingpowertothedrivemotor,conrm
that the wheel segments are fully engaged in the
wheel frame, and the segment retainers are com-
pletely fastened as shown in Figure 23 on page
31 and Figure 24 on page 32.
3. With hands and objects away from the moving
parts, activate theAHU, and conrm the wheel
rotation. The wheel rotates clockwise from the
pulley side.
4. Ifthewheelhasdifcultystarting,turnthepower
off, and inspect it for excessive interference be-
tween the wheel surface and each one of the four
diameter seals. To correct, loosen the diameter
seal adjusting screws and back adjustable diam-
eter seals away from surface of the wheel. Apply
powertoconrmthewheelisfreetorotate,then
readjust and tighten hub and diameter seals as
shown in Figure 25 on page 32.
