Select Realt im e VBR ( r eal-tim e Variable Bit Rat e) for applicat ions w it h bursty connections
t hat r equire closely controlled delay and delay variation.
Peak Cell Rat e Divide the DSL line rat e ( bps) by 424 (t he size of an ATM cell) to find t he Peak Cell Rat e
( PCR). This is the m axim um rate at w hich t he sender can send cells. Type t he PCR here. This
field is not available when you select UBR W ithout PCR.
Sustainable
Cell Rate
The Sust ainable Cell Rat e (SCR) set s the average cell rat e ( long-t erm ) t hat can be
transm it t ed. Type the SCR, w hich m ust be less than t he PCR. Note that sy stem default is 0
cells/ sec.
This field is available only when you select N on Re a lt im e VBR or Re a lt im e VBR.
Maxim um Burst
Size
Maxim um Bur st Size (MBS) r efers t o t he m axim um num ber of cells that can be sent at t he
peak rate. Type t he MBS, which is less than 65535.
This field is available only when you select N on Re a lt im e VBR or Re a lt im e VBR.
PPP

This is available only when you select PPPoE or PPPoA in the Mode field.
PPP User Nam e Ent er t he user nam e exactly as your I SP assigned. I f assigned a nam e in t he form
user@domain where dom ain identifies a service nam e, t hen enter bot h com ponent s exact ly
as given.
PPP Password Enter t he password associated wit h t he user nam e above.

Select t his opt ion if you do not want t he connect ion t o tim e out .
I DLE Tim eout This value specifies t he t im e in m inutes that elapses before the router aut om atically
disconnect s from t he PPPoE server.
This field is not configurable if you select PPP Aut o Connect .
PPPoE Service
Nam e
Ent er the nam e of your PPPoE service here.

This field is available when you select PPPoE encapsulat ion.
I n addit ion t o t h e Dev ice’s built- in PPPoE clien t , you can enable PPPoE pass t hr ough t o allow
up t o ten host s on the LAN t o use PPPoE client soft w are on their com put ers t o connect to t he
I SP via t he Device. Each host can have a separat e account and a public WAN I P address.
PPPoE pass through is an alt ernat ive to NAT for applicat ion where NAT is not appropriat e.
Disable PPPoE pass t hrough if you do not need t o allow host s on the LAN to use PPPoE client
soft ware on t heir com put ers t o connect t o the I SP.
