Recommendations, quality
The table specifies any recommendations made by ABB:

Base plate
This section details how to secure the base plate to the foundation.
NoteAction
Make sure the foundation is level.1
CAUTION
The base plate weighs 353 kg! All lifting
equipment used must be sized accordingly!

Position base plate in relation to the robot
work location using the three grooves in the
base plate.

Lift the base plate to its mounting position.4
If possible, observe the recommenda-
tions specified in section Recommenda-
tions, quality on page 79. ABB does not
assume any responsibility for other
foundation qualities, due to great vari-
ations in the foundation properties.
Use the base plate as a template and drill 16
attachment holes as required by the selected
bolt dimension.

Fit the base plate and use the levelling bolts
to level the base plate.

If required, fit strips of sheet metal underneath
the base plate to fill any gaps.

Secure the base plate to the foundation with
screws and sleeves.

Maximum allowed deviation all over the
base plate, from one contact surface to
the other: 0.2 mm.
Recheck the four contact surfaces on the
base plate to make sure the base plate is level
and flat.

If it is not, use pieces of sheet metal or similar
to bring the base plate to a level position.
