See Figure 2-2 and picture below. The L-829 ACE (or ACE2) control and
monitoring unit consists of an integrated control unit that is interfaced to
each CCR either internally or within a small external enclosure. The ACE
printed circuit boards are mounted inside a small and rugged
environmental enclosure that is directly attached to the door of the L-829
CCR. The ACE consists of microprocessor-based module(s) that
processes communication, control commands, input/output interface, and
failsafe functionality for controlled elements in the airfield lighting vault.
