Configuring Parameters
After the CPM is installed, chassis slots, IOM-a and MDA-a cards can be configured before
or after the components are installed.
Each specific slot must specify an IOM-a, MDA-a slot, and MDA-a type. You cannot
configure ports until the MDA-a is configured.
Configure components in the following order:
1. Card slot number (use the card command)
2. Card type (use the card-type command)
3. MDA-a slot number (use the mda command)
4. MDA-a type (use the mda-type command)
5. Ports
Configuring Chassis Slot and IOM-a Parameters
In the config context, use the following CLI commands and syntax examples to provision
the chassis slot and IOM-a:
Configuring MDA-a Parameters
MDA-a cards must be configured before their ports can be configured.
Note:
• IOM-a cards are configured using the card and card-type commands (items 1 and
2 in the following list).
• MDA-a cards are configured using the mda and mda-type commands (items 3 and 4
in the following list).
