Thisboilercanproducedangerouscarbonmonoxide
(CO)gasifitisnotinstalledandusedproperly.
MOUNTING THE WALL FLUE
Theboilermayonlybemountedwiththeoriginalue.
Theuemustnotbeblocked.Thewallueshouldbe
mountedonasurfaceasataspossible,allowingair
tofreelycirculatepasttheue.Theueshouldnotbe
mountedcloserthan12inches(300mm)sidewayson
fromanopeningwindoworventilationinlet.Theuemust
notbemountedunderawindowthatcanbeopened,ora
ventilationinlet(Sedrawingbelow).
If the ue is mounted closer than the measurements
given above, a window circuit- breaker shall be
installed that shuts off the LP Gas supply when the
window is open. Toguaranteethefunctionoftheboiler,
noobjectshouldbettedwithinaradiusof12inches
(300mm)aroundthechimney(noofcialclaim).The
distancefromtheuetotheventilationinletunderthe
vehiclemustbeatleast12inches(300mm)(notalegal
requirement).Thedistancefromuetorellingpositionor
ventilationforfuelshallbeatleast20in/500mm.
Marktheplacewheretheueistobelocated.Thendrill
aØ3.25inch(83mm)holethroughtheouterwall.First
mountthegasket(B7)andthenscrewdowntheue(B
8)withthe6platescrews(B9).Ifthesurfaceisstruc-
tured,ofball-hammeredplatetype,sealingcompound
forautomobileapplicationmustbeusedwiththegasket.
Mounttheplasticcap(B10a)andtheOring(B10b)with
thetwoscrewsprovided(B11).
MOUNTING THE INLET/EXHAUST
HOSE
Hoselengthwithwallue:min.1.5feet(0.5m)andmax.
6.5feet(2.0m).Measureandcuttherequiredlengthof
inlethose(Ø3in/75mm).Theexhausthose(Ø2in/50
mm)shouldbecutoffsoitbecomesapproximately2
inches(50mm)longerthanthesuctionhose.Thisapplies
tohoselengthsover3feet(1m).Notethatthehoseswill
goontothehosesleeves0.75inches(20mm).Pushthe
exhausthoseintotheinlethose.Firstmounttheexhaust
hose(B12a).Adda1/8inch(3mm)stringofHighTem-
perature(min500°F)Siliconpaste(B12b)ontheinside
ofthe2-inch(50mm)hose.(e.g.,DowCorningq3-1566).
Puttheexhausthoseoverthewallueconnection(B8).
Tightenthe40-60hoseclamp(B13).Puttheairinlettube
(B14)onthewallueconnection.Tightenthe60-80hose
clamp(B15).Usethesameprocedurewhenconnecting
thehosestotheboiler.Staplethehose(B16)onc/c2
feet(600mm)orequivalent.
MOUNTING THE EXPANSION TANK
Mounttheexpansiontankatleast7.5inches(200mm)
higherthanthehighestpointoftheheatingsystemor
boiler.Iftheexpansiontankismountedinawardrobefor
example,Alde’sprotectivehousingshouldbemounted
aroundtheexpansiontank.Thiswillstopaccidental
splashescomingincontactwithclothing.Leaveaspace
ofatleast8inches(220mm)abovetheexpansiontank
fortoppingupandservice.Fittheexpansionvessel
usingthescrewsandsupportrings(C16)supplied.Ifa
circulatingpumpisttedintheexpansionvessel,itisa
suckingpumpandincominghosesshallthereforealways
beconnectedtothepipeunderneaththepumpandout-
goinghosestothepipealongside(seeg.C).Theair
venthose(C17)mustbeassembledverticallyupwards
andclampeddownsothatcreasescannotforminthe
hose.Thedrainagehose(C18)mustbemountedsothat
itgoestheshortestroutefromtheexpansiontankout
throughtheoorofthevehicle.Cutthehoseobliquelyat
a30ºanglefromthedirectionoftravelunderthevehicle.
Aftertheheatingsystemhasbeenlled,thetankshallbe
sealedwiththecap.
