Be sure to use motor oils that do not contain anti-friction modiers. Passenger car
motor oils (often labeled “Energy Conserving”) contain anti-friction additives which
will cause starter clutch slipping, resulting in reduced component life and poor
engine performance.
CAUTION
Oil Level Inspection
Do not overll the engine with oil. Overlling the engine can cause oil leaks and/or oil
contamination of the air lter element. Always make sure the oil level is above the “L”
mark but not higher than the “F” mark.
CAUTION
Engine Oil
Make sure the engine oil is at the specied level. Add oil as necessary.
Check for any leaks.
Recommended engine oil
classication:
API Service SJ
type or higher. The recommended
oil viscosity is SAE 5W-30.
Ambient temperature should
determine the correct weight of oil.
See the viscosity chart or consult
an authorized ARGO dealer for
guidance.
Operation - Before You Ride
1. Engine Oil Inspection Window
2. Maximum Level Mark “H”
3. Minimum Level Mark “L”
NOTE: The ATV should be parked
on level ground, with the engine
key switch in the “OFF” position.
1. Check the oil level through the
inspection window.
2. The oil level should be between the
maximum “H” mark and minimum
“L” mark.
If the level is low, add specied oil
to raise it to the proper level.
