Operation - Before You Ride
To add rear gear case oil:
1. Remove the oil ll bolt (1).
2. Add appropriate type and amount of oil.
3. Remove the oil level check bolt (2).
4. Ensure oil level reaches the oil level check hole.
5. Inspect O-ring for damage. Replace if necessary.
6. Install the oil ll cap and the oil level check bolt. Tighten oil ll cap to
11 ft lb (15 N-m). Tighten the oil level check bolt to 15 ft lb (20 N-m).
Front Gear Case Oil Inspection
Any lubricant used in place of the recommended lubricant may cause serious damage.
CAUTION
NOTE: The ATV should be parked
on level ground, with the engine key
switch in the “OFF” position.
1. Remove the oil level check bolt (1).
2. Ensure oil level reaches the oil
level check hole.
3. Inspect O-ring for damage. Replace
if necessary.
4. Install the oil level check bolt.
Tighten to 7.2 ft lb (10 N-m).
Ensure no foreign material enters the gear case.
CAUTION
To add front gear case oil:
1. Remove the oil ll bolt (2).
2. Remove the oil level check bolt (1).
3. Ensure oil level reaches the oil level check hole.
4. Add appropriate type and amount of oil.
5. Inspect O-ring for damage. Replace if necessary.
6. Install the oil ll bolt and the oil level check bolt. Tighten oil ll bolt to
11 ft lb (15 N-m). Tighten the oil level check bolt to 7.2 ft lb (10 N-m).
