4. Clean the oil strainer with solvent.
5. Inspect the O-ring and replace if damaged.
6. Reinstall the O-ring, oil strainer, compression spring and oil strainer cap.
Tighten to 11 ft lb (15 N-m).
General Maintenance
When removing the oil strainer cap, account for a compression spring, oil strainer
and an O-ring. Do not lose these parts.
CAUTION
Before reinstalling the oil strainer cap, ensure O-ring, compressing spring and oil
strainer are installed.

7. Remove the three fasteners (1) and then remove the right side cover (2).
8. Using a suitable oil lter wrench, remove the oil lter.

9. Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to the
O-ring of the new oil lter.
NOTE: Ensure the O-ring is seated properly.
10. Install the new oil lter.
11. Using an oil lter wrench, tighten the lter to
7.2 ft lb (10 N-m).

NOTE: Clean up any excess or spilled oil after removing the oil lter.
6. Install right side cover.
7. Pour the recommended amount and type of engine oil into the oil ll hole.
Install the oil ll cap.
8. Check the oil level through the inspection window.
9. The oil level should be between the maximum “H” mark and minimum “L” mark.
If the level is low, add specied oil to raise it to the proper level.
NOTE: Dispose of the used oil and lter in an environmentally proper way.
