4. Clean the oil strainer with solvent.
5. Inspect the O-ring and replace if damaged.
6. Reinstall the O-ring, oil strainer, compression spring and oil strainer cap.
Tighten to 11 ft lb (15 N-m).
General Maintenance
When removing the oil strainer cap, account for a compression spring, oil strainer
and an O-ring. Do not lose these parts.
CAUTION
Before reinstalling the oil strainer cap, ensure O-ring, compressing spring and oil
strainer are installed.

7. Remove the three fasteners (1) and then remove the right side cover (2).
8. Using a suitable oil lter wrench, remove the oil lter.

9. Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to the
O-ring of the new oil lter.
NOTE: Ensure the O-ring is seated properly.
10. Install the new oil lter.
11. Using an oil lter wrench, tighten the lter to
7.2 ft lb (10 N-m).

NOTE: Clean up any excess or spilled oil after removing the oil lter.
6. Install right side cover.
7. Pour the recommended amount and type of engine oil into the oil ll hole.
Install the oil ll cap.
8. Check the oil level through the inspection window.
9. The oil level should be between the maximum “H” mark and minimum “L” mark.
If the level is low, add specied oil to raise it to the proper level.
NOTE: Dispose of the used oil and lter in an environmentally proper way.
