INTRODUCTION
This chapter defines the intended audience and scope of this guide, and suggests how to use this
guide to find specific information quickly and efficiently. Users should read

before installing or operating the equipment described in this guide. A list of related

Safety and Standards Compliance
Always work safely. Observe all CAUTIONs and laser radiation notices in this guide.
Class 1M Laser Product
DANGER
Viewing the laser output with certain optical instruments (e.g. eye loupes, magnifiers
and microscopes) within a distance of 100 mm may pose an eye hazard.

Use of controls or adjustments, or performance of procedures other than those
specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.

There must be a proper termination of all active fibers in the network.
WARNING
Exercise extreme care when touching the enclosure. Do not touch the enclosure if
ambient temperature exceeds 40°C.
WARNING
Avoid electric shock! Opening this equipment may expose you to dangerous voltages.
AC voltages in the range of 44 to 95 V AC can be present when power is connected to the node.
Shut down or disconnect external AC power to the node before removing or replacing the RF
amplifier tray in the base housing.

digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide
reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a
commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause
harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential
area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct
the interference at one’s own expense.
