1.4 Tools / Test Equipment / Supplies
The following tools, test equipment, and supplies are suggested for configuring and installing
NC4000 Nodes. Specific tools and test equipment items are also listed as needed within the
applicable procedures in Chapter 3, Configuring NC4000 Nodes and Chapter 4, Installing
NC4000Nodes.
1.4.1 Tool List
■ Torque wrench
■ 1/2-inch wrench (or socket)
■ 3/4-inch wrench (or socket)
■ 11/16-inch wrench (or socket)
■ 7/8-inch wrench (or socket)
■ 1/4-inch nut driver (or socket)
■ Adjustable wrench, 8-inch or 12-inch
■ 1/4-inch flat tip screwdriver
■ #1 Phillips tip screwdriver
■ Cable cutter to cut pin type connector to length
■ RF tray field brackets (98-10032)
■ RF tray extraction tools (98-10035+)
1.4.2 Test Equipment List
■ Optical Power Meter—EXFO FOT-10A Power Meter or equivalent
■ CATV Signal Level Meter—Must be capable of measuring frequencies up to 1 GHz
■ Digital Multimeter—Fluke 73 Series III Digital Multimeter or equivalent
■ Portable Upstream RF Signal Generator—Applied Instruments Model 5112 Multi Carrier
Generator or equivalent
■ Optical Spectrum Analyzer (optional) —Agilent 86142B or equivalent
■ RF Spectrum Analyzer (optional)—Agilent 8591C Cable TV Analyzer or equivalent
with calibrated RF test cable
■ TP4000 Test Probe (adapter, GFA to F)
