6 Operation
Control
The Compact Bulk Rivet Feeder function is automatically based on the control software running in
the Controller and is an inherent function of the riveting system.
Filling and Relling
CAUTION
Always check the rivet part number on the rivet container corresponds
to the part number located on the lid of the Compact Bulk Rivet Feeder
before lling.
Filling Level for Vibrating Bowl (BASE)
When relling the Compact Bulk Rivet Feeder Bowl, the rivets are dispensed via the hopper and
the hopper needs to have rivets in it to replenish the bowl. There is no set capacity for the bowl
(just needs to have rivets in it).
CAUTION
The user should not directly ll the bowl with rivets, always ll via the
hopper.
6. 1 Vibration Adjustment
Vibration adjustment controls the speed that the rivets are delivered. If the rivet geometry is
changed, the system is disturbed, or rivet feeding is not satisfactory, it may be necessary to adjust
the vibrating bowl vibration unit regulator. A poorly set vibratory unit can seriously impact rivet
feed reliability.
With the bowl running (Escapement track full sensor low) adjust the dial until optimum rivet ow
around the bowl is achieved
Rivet volume/mass changes with each rivet type, therefore the vibration setting may need to be
increased or decreased from the values previously set.
NOTE
A well optimised bowl setting should always deliver a consistent
output of rivets.
