2 Safety
It is important that the following safety precautions are observed:
 Only trained and authorised operators shall use this equipment. Contact Atlas
Copco IAS or an approved engineer for help if you are in any doubt of your
ability to operate or maintain the equipment.
 With Compact Bulk Rivet Feeder systems, the rivets can travel through the
T-Tube at very high speed. Do not operate the system without the end of
the T-Tube being restrained and with the intended equipment or a suitable
container in place.
 Ear protection should be worn if operating the Compact Bulk Rivet Feeder with
the lid open, as noise levels can be high.
 Always wear approved safety glasses when operating the equipment with the
lid open. Other PPE may be required for various operations and maintenance
tasks.
 Refer to the manuals for the other Self Pierce Riveting System components
for safety precautions relating specically to these items - Tool, Selector, Die
Changer and Controller.
 Follow safe lifting/handling guidelines if moving the Compact Bulk Rivet
Feeder.
 Do not t worn or broken parts to the Compact Bulk Rivet Feeder.
 While every eort has been made to ensure this equipment is safe, a
comprehensive assessment is not possible before the equipment is installed and
commissioned in its ultimate environment. It is therefore, responsibility of the
end user of this equipment, to conduct a nal risk assessment of the equipment
when installed and to implement any additional preventative measures.
