8 Cleaning
Personnel performing the activities outlined in this procedure must be adequately trained or
under the close supervision of a qualied person.
Ensure equipment is safely isolated (both electrical and pneumatic supplies) before attempting
any maintenance.
CAUTION
Do NOT use any cleaning solutions on or near the Compact Bulk Rivet
Feeder. Any components requiring the use of cleaning solutions should
be cleaned o-line and away from the Compact Bulk Rivet Feeder. If in
doubt, seek advice from Atlas Copco IAS.
Obey on-site safety procedures such as lock-out and supply isolation
guards.
Always use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Protective eye wear, gloves and a dust mask should be used when
cleaning the system.
This procedure recommends the use of either a compressed air canister
(suitable for cleaning) or a compressed air line (clean, dry, non-
lubricated and ltered to 5m (micron)).
8. 1 Cleaning Inside the Unit
CAUTION
Stray rivets ejected from the bowl may inadvertently gather inside the
unit. These rivets need removing and Do NOT recover rivets from the
base plate for re-use in production

base plate and
vibrating plate
with a suitable
vacuum cleaner.
