- Write in individual upper case or lowe r case let-
ters or numbers/characters on the MMI touch
contro l pad using your finger .
A character rec-

will confirm with a n audio signal, if nec essary,
and transfer the character to the input field.
- Entering spaces: move your finger across the
MMI touch control pad f rom left to right.
- Deleting characters: move you r finger across
the MMI touch control pad from right to left .

trol knob.
- Switching directly to th e result s list: tur n the
contro l knob to the right
Moving th e crosshairs/ map
Requirement : a map must be disp layed

- Showing / hiding th e crosshairs: press the con -
trol knob to show the cross ha irs . Press the
I BACKl@ button c::> page 98, fig. 94 to hide the
crosshairs.
- Moving th e crosshairs in a standard map:
move the crossha irs shown in the des ired dire c-
t ion using your finger on the MMI touch control
pad.
- Moving th e standard map/ online map: move
the crossha irs shown in the desi red direction
using two fingers on the MMI to uch control pad
c::> page 145.
- Moving the map quickly: pull two of your fi n-
gers in the desired direction quickly along the
MMI touch contro l pad . The map will come to a
stop after several seconds .
Zooming in/ out on the map
Requirement : a map must be d isp layed

- Zooming in on the map : press the control knob
to show the crossha irs . Touch the MMI touch
contro l pad w ith two fingers and pull your fin-
gers away from each other.

touc h control pad with two f ingers and pull
your fingers together .

Control knob with
joystick function
The MMI control panel has a control knob with
joystick function , which can be used, for exam-
ple, to move the crosshairs on a map or adjust
the sound focus.
