Driving with an insufficient oil level is likely to
cause severe damage to the engine.
(Di Tips
- The oil pressure warning display. is not
an indicato r of the oil level. Do not rely on
it. Instead , check the oil level in your en-
gine at regular intervals, preferably each
time you refuel , and always befo re going
on a long trip.
- If you have the impression your engi ne con-
sumes excessive amounts of oil, we recom-
mend tha t you co nsult an authorized Aud i
dealer t o have the cause of your con ce rn
properly d iagnosed . Keep in mind that the
accurate measurement of oil consumpt ion
requires great care and may take some
time. An authorized Audi dealer has instruc -
tions about how to measure oil consump-
tion acc urately .

Do not add any oil.
The engine oil consumption may be up to
0.5 quart per 600 miles (0.5 liter/ 1,000 km) , de-
pending on d riving sty le and operating condi-
tions . Consumption may be higher dur ing the
first 3,000 miles (5,000 km). Because of th is, the
engine oil level m ust be checked regularly . It
would be best t o check each time you refuel your
vehicle and before long drives .
