85-10-64 Cleaning
Before the two–mass-flywheel is cleaned the visual inspection has to be finished.
Cleaning agent or grease-dissolving materials must not be get to the inside of the
Two-Mass-Flywheel.
It is not permitted to clean the two-mass-flywheel in a part washing machine. Also
cleaning with a steam- or a high-pressure-cleaner is not allowed.
Before the two-mass-flywheel is cleaned an optical inspection of the two-mass-
flywheel have to be done.
To clean the surfaces of the two-mass-flywheel a cleaning cloth covered with WD40
can be used. With the cloth the contact surfaces to the crank shaft and to the hub
(E4A-73-000-203) can be cleaned from surface rust and dust.
The presence of rust at the surface of the two-mass-flywheel is not critical for the
function of it. It is adequate to clean the surface with a dry Scotch-Brite hand pad
from light surface corrosion.
Important is the cleaning of the surfaces at the connecting flanges.
