4.9 When an Alarm Occurs
Note: When an alarm occurs, you should always
check the patient’s condition first.
Check the alarm message appeared on the screen. It is
needed to identify the alarm and action appropriately,
according to the cause of the alarm.
1. Check the patient’s condition.
2. Identify alarming parameter and alarm category.
3. Identify the cause of the alarm.
4. Silence the alarm, if necessary.
5. When cause of alarm has been over, check that the
alarm system is working properly.
