Appendix B Automated Operation
Automated operation consists of optional custom software/firmware sold
separately and available for purchase for specific aircraft types. Automated
operation is non-standard software containing automated tests which will
automatically configure the FlightHawk-AV and test specific communications
and navigation systems.
Modes of Operation
The FlightHawk-AV is available with two modes of operation:
Automatic Mode — Automatic Mode consists of predefined tests, tailored to
the specific systems available on a given aircraft. These tests are designed to be
used in conjunction with troubleshooting procedures in the aircraft’s technical
manual to allow the technician to quickly isolate malfunctions. See
"Automatic
Mode" on page B-2
for a more detailed description.
Note: Advanced Mode is the primary mode of operation if optional
Automatic Mode is not installed or no predefined tests available.
Advanced Mode — Advanced Mode is available when there are no
predefined tests available, or when the technician is experienced in the use of
RF test equipment. See
"Advanced Mode" on page B-9
for a more detailed
description.
