8 NC Multifunction Card NCM02
8.1 Brief Description
The NC multifunction card is the core of the NC CPU. It is responsible for the
drive communication with up to 4 SERCOS interfaces. A flash memory is pro‐
vided for storing machine-specific data, the axis resolution, the ramp-curves
etc. The direct I/Os to the CNC are available via an Interbus master.

8.2 Features
● PCI Interface
● Flash memory with up to 1024 kB.
● 4 SERCOS interfaces with 2/4/8/16 MBaud. Bus master ability for cyclic
data transmission between SERCON components and the RAM.
● 32-bit RISC communication processor, clocked with 40 MHz, 128 kB flash
EPROM, 10 kB RAM and 2 kB dual port RAM to the PCI bus.
● 3 processor-internal serial interfaces.
8.3 Available Versions
The NC multifunction card is available in various component versions.
