CHAPTER 10
Calibration

10.3.2 Regular Re-Calibration
To minimise the cost of errors due to faulty or inaccurate measurements, we can arrange for
calibration every year in a ISO 17025 certified laboratory at Brüel & Kjær. With annual data,
you will have unbroken history to use as reference, either for internal requirements, for audit
required by authorities or at the request of your customers. And not least, you can follow
the history of sensitivity for your instruments over time.
10.3.3 PULSE modules
Brüel & Kjær offers calibration services for PULSE systems Types 3560-B, C, D and E.
For the following types the calibration measurements and acceptance limits are selected in
accordance with the specifications for PULSE version 8.0 and later:
• 3560-B-010, 3560-B-020, 3560-B-030, 3560-B-040
• 3560-B-110, 3560-B-120, 3560-B-130, 3560-B-140
• 3109, 3110
• 3032, 3032-B, 3035
• 3038, 3038-B, 3039, 3039-B
• 3040, 3040-B, 3041, 3041-B,
• 7537, 7537-A, 7539, 7539-A
• 7538, 7538-A, 7540, 7540-A
Optionally PULSE modules (Types 3560-B, C, D, E) can be calibrated according to Sound
Level Meter standard IEC 60651.
10.3.4 Filter Calibration
Available filter calibration:
• Calibration of filter response for octave and 1/3-octave filters according to IEC 61260
• Calibration of filters for the range 6.3 Hz to 20 kHz
• Number of filters as specified by customer
10.4 Reference Instruments – Microphones and
Accelerometers
From Brüel & Kjær you can get two levels of reference calibrations:
• Primary calibration – performed by the Danish Primary Laboratory of Acoustics (DPLA)
• Secondary Calibration
Which level to choose, depends on the level of sensitivity required in your microphones and
accelerometers reference instruments.
