PULSE Multi-analyzer System Type 3560-B/C/D/E – Installation and IDAe Hardware62
DC Output
To provide power for accessories such as a LAN switch or wireless LAN, the unit is provided
with a 5 ± 0.5 and 12 ± 1.0 V DC output (LEMO FGG.00.302 connector) each providing up
to 400 mA (1 A fused) – see Fig.5.3. Cables for these accessories must be ordered separately.
5.3 Multichannel Portable PULSE Type 3560-D
Data Acquisition Systems employing a Type 3560-D front-end comprise a frame, KK-0050,
which can contain seven modules. One of these must be the DC Power Supply Unit Type
2826, and one must be a Controller Module. The remaining five modules can be Input/
Output modules. See Table 4.1 for information on suitable modules. The front-end is con-
nected to the PC via the LAN Interface located in the Controller Module.

5.3.1 Configuration
Data Acquisition System Type 3560-D is always configured at Brüel & Kjær before delivery.
5.3.2 Power Supply
Data Acquisition System Type 3560-D must be powered from an external 10 – 32 V DC
power supply. This power may be obtained from, for example, a car battery, or it may be
powered using the 100 – 240 V AC Mains to DC supply ZG-0430 that is provided with
Type 3560-D. See section 5.5.
5.3.3 Silent Operation
During operation fans keep the temperature of Type 3560-D within safety limits. In meas-
urements where fan noise can influence measurement results (see Table 5.3), the fans can be
switched off from the PULSE software by selecting View, Fan and Battery Control and
right-clicking on the frame. If overheating threatens, the fans are automatically turned on
again.
