Set the PC IP Address
If you wish to update the default IP address of the PC, or your PC has not been pre-installed
with an IP address by Brüel & Kjær, click the Set IP button on the PULSE Front-end Setup
page. The PC Network Configuration utility (Fig.2.7) will start.
Fig.2.7
Setting the PC IP Address
The default network setup is a direct connection (point-to-point configuration) with the PC’s
IP address set at 10.10.10.50. All point-to-point setups must use this IP address.
If, however, you plan to connect your system to the in-house network, you have to obtain IP
addresses for the PC and the front-end from your network administrator (he will also know
if you need to use DHCP).
Note: To ensure a correct connection, review the “Network Considerations” on page 6
with your network administrator.
To use the IP address given to you by your network administrator, check the Change PC IP
Address box, then do one of the following:
• Choose the Use DHCP radio button to set the PC IP address using the network DHCP
server. The Set IP address box will then be disabled
• Choose the Set IP address radio button to manually configure the allocated IP address
given to you by your network administrator
Click Next. You will then be prompted to reboot your PC.
