Spectrometer operation with conventional probes
CryoProbe User Manual BRUKER 53 (107)
IMPORTANT: The He compressor and the Flexlines must remain pressurized to
about 15 bar at any time to prevent contamination. When the CryoProbe System
is shut down, it automatically vents some parts while others remain pressurized.
Its seals are designed to hold the pressure over an extended period. Do not try to
release this pressure by any means! Safety-valves will prevent damage if excess
pressure builds up accidentally.
See “Relocation of a CryoPlatform” in the Installation Manual if the CryoProbe
System shall be moved to another place.

The HPPR CRP preamplifier assembly can be operated with conventional probes
just like a standard HPPR. For
13
C observe experiments with conventional
probes, either the 13C CRP or the X-BB module can be used. If the HPPR CRP
contains more than 5 preamp modules, the wiring inside the HPPR CRP needs to
be checked (see the CryoProbe RF Electronics Technical Manual and "HPPR
CRP configuration" on page 44).
IMPORTANT: If you have to change the HPPR CRP assembly’s internal wiring,
shut down its power supply by switching O
FF the AQR unit inside the spectrome-
ter cabinet. When done, switch O
N the AQR and run an XWIN-NMR cf dialogue.
d.4 Switch O
FF the He Compressor MAIN POWER SW on its back.
d.5 In case of a water-cooled He Compressor: close the cooling water
supply or switch the water chiller O
FF.
NOTE: If the water chiller is remote controlled from the CryoCooling
Unit, it will be shut down when the CryoCooling Unit mains is switched
off.
