8.6.2 Replacing the UV lamp
WARNING!
Health risk from toxic mercury vapor!
The tube of the UV lamp contains toxic mercury.
Inhaling mercury vapors causes a high risk of acute
poisoning.
– When changing the UV lamp, always handle it
carefully to avoid damage to the UV lamp.
CAUTION!
Injury to the eyes from ultraviolet radiation!
Unfiltered, direct and indirect UV radiation could
damage the skin and eyes.
– Never look into the light of the lamp when switched
on.
NOTICE!
Property damage due to incorrect handling of the
UV lamp!
The UV lamp is very sensitive. Touching the glass
body can greatly reduce the service life. Stains burn
into the quartz glass and lead to early failure.
– Only touch the UV lamp at its blue end pieces.
– Do not touch quartz glass with bare hands.
– Gently remove stains with a clean cloth soaked in
alcohol.
– Always remove the UV lamp slowly and carefully.
The UV lamp is located under the control panel on the center plate
