4-5 Driving Auxiliary Functions 153
■ If the vehicle is running under special road conditions such as a circular
parking lot or a tunnel for a long time, the radar may malfunction for a short
time due to its detection limitation. In this case, you can restore the function
by restarting the vehicle or driving along a normal road for a certain
distance.
■ Structural modification of the vehicle such as lowering the chassis height or
changing the front license plate may affect the ACC system.
■ Metal objects such as rails or metal plates for road construction may
interfere with the mid-range radar and make it unable to work normally.
■ Do not use the ACC system when driving on a road with poor visibility,
ramp or curved sections or on slippery surface (e.g. snow, ice or water
covered or damp road sections).
■ In case of the following situations, please go to a BYD authorized service
provider for professional calibration and confirmation of the mid-range
radar:
● Remove the front mid-range radar/front bumper.
● Four-wheel alignment is performed due to wheel deviation.
● Vehicle collision has occurred.
● It is detected that the ACC system performance degrades or the
instrument prompts system abnormality.
Predictive Emergency Braking System (PEBS)*
The predictive emergency braking system has two functions: predictive collision
warning (PCW) and automatic emergency braking (AEB). The system uses
radar and multi-function video controller to detect vehicles and pedestrians in
front of the subject vehicle. When the system determines that there is a risk of
head-on collision between the subject vehicle and the vehicle and pedestrian
ahead, it will give an audible and visual alarm to urge the driver to take evasive
measures, and increase the potential braking pressure to provide the driver with
sufficient reaction time. If the system determines that the possibility of collision
continues to increase, the brake will be automatically applied to help the driver
avoid collision or reduce collision impact.
You may turn on or off the predictive collision warning function via
→DiPilot→Active Safety. The system is on by default before power on the
vehicle.
