7-1 When Failure Occurs 245
● Any air bag fails to deploy after a front collision.
● Rear collision occurs.
● Vehicle system becomes faulty.
■ If any of the above-mentioned collision and vehicle system fault occur, the
driving ready indicator (i.e. the "OK" indicator) will go out.
■ The risk of leading to injury or unexpected event can be minimized as the
emergency shutdown system can be activated after the occurrence of
above-mentioned collisions.
■ Once the emergency shutdown system is activated, the vehicle system
could not be switched to the ready state. In this case, contact a BYD
authorized service provider for rescue. The system will shut down
immediately even if the power switch is shifted to the ready state. Please
immediately contact a BYD authorized service provider.
Vehicle Fire
If your vehicle catches fire, operate the vehicle continuously as per the following
methods and based on actual conditions:
1. Set the vehicle power to the OFF mode and leave the vehicle.
2. On condition that personal safety can be guaranteed, if the vehicle fire is
small and spreads slowly, put out the fire with a dry powder fire
extinguisher and make a call for help at once.
3. If the vehicle fire is fierce and spreads rapidly, keep away from the vehicle
without delay, inform fire and rescue personnel that the vehicle is equipped
with high-voltage battery packs and wait for rescue.
■ Be sure to wear insulating gloves when disassembling the vehicle. Put out
fires with specified types of fire extinguishers. Attempting to extinguish fire
with water or incorrect fire extinguishers may cause electric shock.
■ If any objects (e.g. interior components, glass, etc.) fly from the vehicle
under other special conditions, keep away from the vehicle and
immediately notify a BYD authorized service provider to come to the spot
for treatment.
