Data collection and processing
This section provides you with some important information on how
personal data is collected and processed when you use a BYD vehicle.
Vehicle Data Processing
When using the vehicle, information is collected at the vehicle.
This includes data such as data collected or transmitted by vehicle sensors
or control units which is necessary for the safe functioning of your vehicle.
In some cases, the data is used to support driving (driver assistance
systems) or to enable a specific comfort or infotainment function.
Personal data that is collected and processed mainly include invehicle data,
remote-services-related data, and other data, as further specified below
In-Vehicle Data
Operation data
When operating the vehicle, various data on the status of the vehicle (e.g.
speed, battery level, braking system) or the environment(e.g. distance
sensors, rain sensor, temperature sensors) are collected and processed.
This data is not usually stored, but there are control units, sensors or other
components installed in the vehicle that record such data, for example to
record maintenance requirements, error messages or other information.
The in-vehicle data will only be stored in the equipment in the vehicle but
can be read out via the legally required OBD ("On Board
Diagnostics")interface, for example by BYD authorised dealer or service
provider or other third parties.
