6 CROSS CONNECTS
The following sections describe how to manage cross-connects on the OCS. Topics covered
include adding connections, accessing a detailed summary of existing connections, and
saving/recalling cross-connects.
6.1 Cross Connects > Add
The following procedure describes how to add a cross-connection to the switch:
1. Log into the system.
2. Navigate the following path: Cross Connects > Add. The Add Cross Connection screen
will open. By default, the screen displays all ports on the system320 ports or 160 ports,
plus spares, depending on the switch model. It also displays the following settings:
FROM ID specifies the “from” (source) port.
Direction specifies whether the connection is Unidirectional (one-way
transmission) or Bidirectional (two-way transmission).
TO ID specifies the “to” (destination) port.
