3.22 STAY CLEAR OF ROTATING DRIVELINES
Entanglement in rotating shafts can cause serious
injury or death. Make sure that all shields on tractor and
driveline are installed and that the mobile ones can turn
smoothly. Wear appropriate PPE. Stop the engine and
be sure PTO driveline is stopped before getting near it
for adjustment, connections or cleaning the attachment
driven by the PTO.
3.23 USING THE SAFETY BELT
On tractors with roll over protection structure (ROPS)
use the safety belt to minimise any injury due to
accidents or tipping over. Do not use the safety belt
if tractor has no roll over protection structure. Change
the safety belt if the retainers, buckle, belt or retractor
show sign of damage. Inspect the safety belt retainers
at least once a year. Check for loosened parts or belt
damage such as cuts, frays, faulty or considerable
wear, discolouration or abrasion. Change parts using
only approved spare parts for the relevant machine.
3.24 PASSENGERS
No passenger on board is allowed unless a special
seat is provided and the driver's view is not obstructed.
Carrying persons on the tractor in other positions, for
instance on the front loader, is absolutely forbidden.
