3.34 DATA SHEET ON TRACTOR'S VIBRATION
LEVEL - HAZARDS DUE TO EXPOSURE TO
VIBRATIONS
Vibrations transmitted to the body depends on
several parameters, some of them are connected
to the machine, some to the ground or surface on
which machine runs, and many others are specic
to the driver. Factors concerning the ground surface
conditions and speed prevail.
Machine-transmitted vibrations cause inconvenience
to the operator and might, in some cases, jeopardise
health and safety. Ensure the machine is in good
conditions and that service and maintenance have been
duly carried out at the scheduled intervals. Check tyre
pressure and steering and brake eciency. Check that
the driver's seat and the relevant adjustment devices
are in good conditions, then adjust the seat according
to operator's build and weight.
IMPORTANT: Please refer to the specic
publications for any further information about
the Whole Body Vibrations (WBV) transmitted by
tractors and see any local regulations concerning
the corresponding risks. To correctly assess
statistical values based on tractor daily use, use a
specic gauge such as a 3-axis accelerometer for
the seat.
