Interface description
The UPS provides a COM 3 standard interface, a USB and an optional COM
interface. These combine protocol-data transfer via a serial RS 232 inter-
face or USB interface and the signal exchange via a contact interface (UPS
interface). Moreover, an interface is provided for controlling switchable load
distributors (ECO).
The interfaces can be used for:
• direct communication between UPS and computer
• integrating the UPS as a client into a network with central monitoring
(SNMP)
• passing on operating states to external message systems
• load management by means of switchable load distributors
The necessary communication software packets, interface cards and exten-
sion modules are available as accessories.
COM 3 standard interface
The 9-pin Sub-D connection (pin contacts) carries the RS 232 signals.
