The COM 3 interface is electrically isolated from all other current circuits.
• SGN at pin 5
This connection is the reference point for all signals.
• RXD at pin 2 and TXD at pin 3
correspond to the normal assignment of an RS 232 interface.
• In addition, an isolated auxiliary voltage is made available at pin 7
(+8…+10VDC).
USB interface
As with the COM 3 standard interface, the USB interface facilitates the pro-
tocol-data transfer. A standard communication cable can be used for estab-
lishing communication between the UPS and PC. If the USB interface is
used for communication purposes, the COM 3 interface is not operational.
Optional COM interface
The optional COM interface can be fitted with various interface cards. The
code located next to the plug is then dependent on the interface card model.
A detailed description is included with the various interface cards, which are
available as accessories.
Possible interface cards: SNMP adapter cards for integrating the devices
into a network or potential-free signalling contacts as per COM 1 (SIC
assembly). Observe the installation instructions included with the acces-
sory.
Described below is the function of the interface signals in the COM 1 variant.
The optional COM 1 interface makes available potential-free signalling con-
tacts, a shutdown input and an isolated auxiliary voltage.
