Maintenance
The UPS requires no maintenance by the user. When the usable lifetime of
the battery has expired, the UPS and the battery connections eventually
connected must be replaced by the responsible customer service represent-
ative.
As a rule, the usable lifetime of the battery is 4 years at 25°C ambient tem-
perature; it is, however, dependent on the frequency and duration of mains
failures.
The device indicates that the battery usable lifetime has expired by flashing
the "BATTERY" LED strip. The flash frequency is approx. 0.25 Hz
(2 seconds on and 2 seconds off). In addition, an acoustical signal is emitted
every minute.
Check whether the backup time of the UPS is still adequate for your application (see
"Checking the operational readiness") in regular intervals (6 … 12 months).
Storage
When storing for longer periods in regions with moderate climates, the bat-
teries should be charged every 3 months for 5 hours. In areas with higher
temperatures, this interval should be reduced to 2 months.
Connect the UPS, as described in chapter “Installation and commissioning”, to an
earthing-contact socket. For the models with permanent connection, switch on the in-
put circuit breaker located on the rear side of the device.
After 5 hours, pull out the mains plug and uninstall the UPS in reverse order of that
described in chapter“Installation and commissioning”.
Record the charging date, e.g. on the packaging.
