PurposeCommand or Action
Entering cancel leaves the router in the current
configuration session without exiting or
committing the configuration changes.
Use the commit command to save the configuration
changes to the running configuration file and remain
within the configuration session.

Configuring MAC Accounting on an Ethernet Interface
This task explains how to configure MAC accounting on an Ethernet interface. MAC accounting has special
show commands, which are illustrated in this procedure. Otherwise, the configuration is the same as configuring
a basic Ethernet interface, and the steps can be combined in one configuration session. See Configuring
Gigabit Ethernet Interfaces, on page 33 in this module for information about configuring the other common
parameters for Ethernet interfaces.
