Verifying the LLDP Configuration
This section describes how to verify the LLDP configuration both globally, and for a particular interface.
Verifying the LLDP Global Configuration
To verify the LLDP global configuration status and operational characteristics, use the show lldp command
as shown in this example:
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router# show lldp
Wed Apr 13 06:16:45.510 DST
Global LLDP information:
Status: ACTIVE
LLDP advertisements are sent every 30 seconds
LLDP hold time advertised is 120 seconds
LLDP interface reinitialisation delay is 2 seconds
If LLDP is not enabled globally, this output appears when you run the show lldp command:
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router# show lldp
Wed Apr 13 06:42:48.221 DST
% LLDP is not enabled
Verifying the LLDP Interface Configuration
To verify the LLDP interface status and configuration, use the show lldp interface command as shown in
this example:
RP/0/RP0/CPU0:router# show lldp interface GigabitEthernet 0/1/0/7
Wed Apr 13 13:22:30.501 DST
GigabitEthernet0/1/0/7:
Tx: enabled
Rx: enabled
Tx state: IDLE
Rx state: WAIT FOR FRAME
